One of Sarasota's favorite neighborhoods to search for a Sarasota homes is the West of the Trail area near Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Neighborhood restaurants like the Hillview Grill offer specials practically every day of the week. On Thursdays, you can get a burger and a beer for just $8.

Hillview Grill was opened in 1986 and regularly provides good food and good service. Stop by on Monday and meet some of your neighbors. They offer 1/2 price bottles of wine on Mondays. Wednesday is martini night.

The small plates portions are just the perfect size for an early dinner. You can choose from an array of dishes and the blackened chicken quesadillas are the best.

Drive right up to the door and the valet will park your car. You'll need to plan on a reservation during season. This little West of the Trail Jewel is packed. Many of the restaurants occupants walk from their West of the Trail homes to take advantage of the special atmosphere and friendly environment.

Southside Village specialty shops, hairdressers and professional services are convenient for owners of homes in this West of the Trail neighborhood. Residents enjoy outside dining and some restaurants allow pooches to accompany. Sam's Sneads and Knick's Tavern have patio dining that allows this.

The Sarasota MLS has a good selection of West of the Trail homes for sale currently on popular streets like Hillview, Morris, Laurel and Wisteria.
